Cougars Stop Sabres in Season Opener
Saturday, 22 August 2009 15:46
After a slow first half the Charlotte Catholic Cougars finally opened up the game by capitalizing on several turnovers to beat the South Mecklenburg Sabres 34-14. Jadarius Bruce, Angelo Acitelli, Joe Piraino and Nick Johnson all contributed to the Cougar running game. CJ Brodowicz made a key interception
and Danny Reyes completed a nice 30 yard pass to Ryan Gibbons for Cougar touchdown.  It was a solid season opener for the Charlotte Catholic team who host Providence next week and should be a challenging matchup for the Cougars. Check out the action photos from this game.
